I want to get a wide angle and telephoto lens for my canon g2 (with a lensmate adapter). Can anyone tell me what would be the best lenses for my canon? What adapter would I need for this?

There was a previous conversation about adapters but I am more interested in lenses and what adapters I would need for a lensmate adapter. Thank you.

The only thing I have heard is that the Olympus A-28 0.8 wide angle converter is very good, and comparable to the Canon converte, plus it fits right on the lensmate adapter. Unfortunately, they are no longer made, so you have to buy one used. Mine is due to arrive shortly, and I will post my findings after I test it out.

I stumbled on these. Alot of people in the forum seam to agree that they are good value for the money. They are made by Tiffen and are called the megaplus series. http://www.tiffen.com They come in an 2 x tele and an 0.75 x wide. They are available as a set from http://www.dcprodirect.com You will also need a reducer from 49mm to 43mm since the lensmate is 49mm and the tiffen lens are 43mm. Hope this helps.

In addition to the other recommendations, Luis de Caceres just posted a link to these lenses from Raynox:

I know nothing about them but now that Luis has posted, perhaps we'll hear from someone on the cutting edge of lens ownership.

This question regarding Raynox has already been discussed here in this forum some days/week ago; There was an answer from Chris (of Germany) that the quality of Raynox is below level;
You can search the forum on Raynox;

Yes, I just discovered that... surprising that I've missed all the Raynox posts. It is generally considered poor.

Thanks for your note.
