We lost our T9 on vacation - T10 or T50 or something even better out soon?

I got my wife a Sony T9 this past March for her birthday... she loved it because it was so portable and easy to use. Well and tonight we just got back from a Caribbean cruise where we managed to lose our T9 somewhere on the island of St Thomas. : (

Anyhow, I'm looking at the Sony website and I see the T10 which seems to have replaced the T9 not too long after we got our T9... and while the T10 seems to have a few nice improvements over our lost T9... part of me wonders what's next and when will it be out? What about the T50's successor? Maybe I'm asking for a lot as it seems these cameras haven't been out but a few months but I don't know sony's history of upgrades and replacements... it seems like the "T-series" has seen frequent small revisions, but maybe it's just my perception.

Also, I compared the T50 and T10 and it seems internet pricing commands about 60 dollars more for the T50 for a longer life battery, a 3" LCD (though no higher res it did say something about a touch-interface? Would that even work without a stylus??) a little longer range flash, and a slightly lighter body offset by the heavier body. I wouldn't mind paying the extra 60... especially if the flash is any longer in throw (a downside to our T9 in my opinion)... but I do have a spare battery for our old T9 and am wondering if I got the T10 would the spare T9 battery (that we didn't lose) work in the T10? What about the T50?

Thanks for any help you guys can be. : )

Gives me great pictures, fits in a shirt pocket, but has a decent size to help with steady holding, even though the IS is great. Fine battery life, and good flash for its size.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't even see the T30 on their website. Is it still made or are you suggesting I just buy one used on ebay since it's just as good as our T9 (if not better) and less than the T10/T50?

My wife is the kind that likes her stuff to be new/pristine condition... kinda funny actually, she has her own hammer and screwdriver and such in "her" tool set that I CAN'T use for real work - they're hers and they stay clean and neat (basically unused for any real work). hehe

Unless the next T-Series has a vast improvement in high ISO noise levels, I don't think you'd be missing much. Choose a new one based on personal preference.

ps. You should still be able to find the T30 new at some outlets.

I use the T30 and wear it on my belt whenever I go out shopping
My wife has the T10 (pink) and she carries it in her handbag
They are both great cameras in every respect
The yellow Marco Polo rose in my signature was taken by my wife using her T10

Get the T10. This way no need to learn new touch screen interface.

I personally don't like touch screen based cameras as the screens get dirty by fingerprints.

I would have to agree with the last post. I went for the T30 for the same reason. Touch screen = fingerprints all over. I do not know why Sony has decided to go that way. These cameras do not have a viewfinder and the screen is the only reference to what's in the picture. I tend to wipe the screen on my T30 all the time as I hate the fingerprints on it. I can't imagine how someone can live with a touch sreen on these little cameras ???
