Wife's away, so I'm alone with the sprout this weekend. There's a beautiful (lightly used, heavily maintained) local park called Brookside Gardens where we go to look at flowers, trees, fountains and run around the pristine grounds.

I almost didn't bring the camera, because the fountains are off, and there are few flowers this time of year. But I figured, what the hey...

Glad I did.

1) Great Blue Heron. Just sitting around primping itself for about an hour. Full 5MP EZ (598mm eq). Cropped from Landscape to Portrait, and resized for flickr.

2) Northern Mockingbird

3) Pileated Woodpecker. This guy was downright uncooperative. Out of about 40 shots, I could see him in 5 of them.

I love the mockingbird pic. The bird seems to pop out of the picture and the colors are great. Good thing you took the camera!
