Took these pictures trying to get different colors of water and the ducks at the same time. Somehow I could not always get the eyes to show. Not sure what adjustments I should make.

Ah! my bad. They looked appetizing though LOL. Yes I do have a polarizer. Didnt think of using it though :-)

What lens were you using? I was using my 80-200/2.8 this AM and every time I tried to get closer to them, they'd (about 75) would all start walking away from me... tried flanking them.. they just changed direction... must have looked pretty funny from above! :)

Yes... it would remove glare, but I'm not sure how much reflection you'd lose at the same time... perhaps someone else can answer that question?

I had a Nikor 100-300. But I was very lucky that there were people feeding them. These geese are quite friendly. They came right up to me

Yep, I am hoping one the experts resposond.

I am guessing the reduced glare would allow for the metering to adjust and getting a clearer Geese face, i.e., the eyes.

Well, if we're going to put all our ducks into a line. :o)

and a couple of Candadian Geese for the original poster:

Yes, Polariser, and (I hate to say it) a longer lens - or more patience. For a catchlight in the eyes you're either going to need to shoot into the light, or use some fill flash.

Currently I use Adobe Lighroom Beta. I need to start learning to use Capture NX. I like lightroom, but it does not let me make these finer localized adjustments. Or at least I have not figured out how.

Beautiful ducks Tintin,

What kind of ducks and what part of the country are they located in.

I love the colors and lines on them.

Thanks for sharing.
