Hi! I like the first versions of both photos...the bubbles are cool close up, and why take away any of the great sharpness from the other by adding a gaussian blur? Your first instincts are usually best... Nee (rdavis)
ok entry number one, which one do I keep ?

Jacques,

Number One: did you try cropping the upper right corner rather than the upper left? Then you wouldn't get the brownish color. Either way, I'd go with the zoomed version.

Number Two: First one. Contrast seems to be better.

i actually like version 2 of each one.
i like the texture variations that zooming out shows on entry no. 1.

the effect on entry no. 2 is now more liked bounced flash but the sharpness is still there.

sorry to make matters worse but i imagine the originals will still get more votes in this particular thread.

Me too actually like version 2 of each one: better definition & contrast IMO

Take your pick on the bubbles, but definitely the first (shiny) bolts. Blurring them to a stain finish didn't help, IMHO.

Your work is meticulous, and very very good looking.

I agree; 2nd try on the first shot; then the original shot on the next photo! steve.
  1. 2 and #3 look the best in my opinion.

Use the first choice of each. The zoomed in "Sky" shot has a main subject - the large "bubble". The first of the "Nuts" shot is in better focus.

What are those reflections we can see in the pic #3? I think I can see curtains and a doorway at the bottom. And... just maybe... a person holding a camera at the bottom right? :-)
