FUJI 2800 experiences???

Thomas, thanks - that helps a lot. Any action shots? (I've always been a point-and-shoot'r, and the 2800 takes the BEST pix, but I've been wondering about the Oly 700 since it has manual features (I really think I would never use them, but it might be nice to take pix of my son playing soccer)

Pics were taken in Slovenian Alps.
I've bought cam yesterday, so I have just a little experience.
I've shoot in both conditions:
1. DAY pics are PAR EXCELLANCE,
2. DARK scenes with flash ( all AUTO mode ) are also super !
BUT: it is well known, that both finders are DARK.
For me is that not such a big problem.
Auto focus works OK, BUT NOT IN VERY DARK.
Also no problem for me, because I need these camera in
normal cond. For pro use I have Canon tradititional 35 mm body +
objectives.
ALL CLEAR ?
For these price , believe me- or not, is 2800 in moment
THE 100 % BEST CHOICE.
Handling is easy, I have no wishes for manual settings.
also cam is GOOD LOOKI'N.

Hi! I was about to buy a Nikon 775(a friend of mine has one and I liked it), but I like the 6x zoom and I've read so many good things about the Fuji FP2800(except for the low ligh "problem") that I'm seriously considering buying the 2800. Can anyone get me a picture comparing the size of the FP2800 and Nikon775(side by side), or a picture of the 2800 in someone's hand? Comment the size difference between both cameras please.

I know that Nikon 775's battery is very durable. Do you think that with two sets of NiMH AA batteries(8 batteries), I will achieve the duration of one 775 battery?

Thank you thank you. (Although it would have been a better picture had it been of the Sharks - just kidding). I figure if you could get a good hockey picture, I ought to be able to get some good soccer pix. I'm going to get the camera at a store that has a 14-day return policy.
 
Hi,

I got rid of the 775 in favour of the 2800z. If size is your priority get a Canon Ixus 300, same zoom as the Nikon but superior picture quality. I'd guess the 2800 is about twice the size of the 775, but is still pretty small. Not really pocketable, but fits in a small bum bag ok. With the 775 & 2800, you're choosing between size and some manual control v's superior image and a great 6X zoom. See my novel in an earlier thread. Most camera stores will carry both of these popular cameras for you to compare. It seems to me that while the CP950 set the standard several years ago, Fuji & Canon in particular have surpassed Nikon in the digital image field.

If Canon Ixus's battery would last longer, I would go for it, but it's duration is short and the Ixus don't use regular AA batteries(as the 2800) or support other non-rechargeable batteries as "backup"(as the 775).
So, my doubts is the size and battery between 2800 and 775...

Both cameras are very small but the FP2800 isn´t pocketable.
I´d defintively go with the FP2800.

The sizes are
FP2800 95 x 77 x 71 mm
N775 87 x 66.5 x 44 mm

I've tested everythig ! 800 - 900 $ OFFER, AS WELL.
6x zoom and pics QUALITY is No.: 1 !
DARK SCENE : NOBODY IS PERFECT !
