D200 and my Bikini Sunset meets Racquel

are you coming out for the game? We don't have any promises, but
there IS a chance my dad might be able to get tickets for that
game. Provided we beat Cal and ND beats whoever they are playing
this weekend...wow, this USC vs ND matchup is going to be HUGE as
whoever wins is going to have a very very very serious shot at the
National Championship with so many teams losing last Saturday.
Nope, I'm not likely to be able to get out that way, but I hope you guys can get some tickets. That would be very cool. :-) With Ohio State and Michigan playing this weekend, that will likely shake up the rankings, when the dust settles.

Thats some great shots and a gorgeous model :)
Great light and color, and the reflections in the sand really adds to the shots.

...the photographer knows how to do so.
It's a pity often mediocre photographers blame their gear and not their own...
Great pictures, beautiful girl, great photographer, congratulations!
And thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Hi Alfred,

I was watching your pictures. Some very nice ones. One question: Why didn't you use some fill in flash on the pictures in the style like this one underneath? Is there and artistical reason for? Just curious...

my favorite is the fifth one . I like the smooth reflection of the water on the sand. I have a question for you,(on a pro level) please check your pm's. tks.

if the lens is round, why are the images square ?

Hi Stany,

a good question. Instead of fill in flash, I just used one light disc reflector on oposite site of the sun, but it was very difficult because of heavy wind.

I like to have contrast between light and shade on dark skin a lot. so I used for the whole shooting just light disc reflectors.

I thought its a good idea, to make the pictures better 3D looking. When I do bikini or nude its very important to get some special lighting and for my style normal fill in flash could easily destroy that. I use fill in flash very seldom, when doing outdoor model shots, but always light disc reflectors, reflecting the sunlight, and easily get an assistant for that. I have a long waiting list :-)

I have to use fill in flash when I do people shots for press (events, press conferences etc.) and newspaper, but for model shoots I have more freedom of lighting.

Kind regard

Alfred Arzt

Hello Christopher,

I simply admirer your work...

But 2 simple questions come to my mind:

1) How to you get all those great models?
2) How did you made your signature?

Thanks

Before USC lost to Oregon State, I didn't feel they deserve to be considered. Granted, they are using a LOT of freshmen due to injuries, but they were kind of sloppy and I was very unimpressed with Booty. However, since their loss, they seem to have gotten a little fired up. Stanford is a cruddy team this year so they don't count, but the Oregon Ducks are a tough school and we manhandled them. If we can win our last games, Cal, ND, and UCLA...I think we've got a well-earned shot.

just showing off in the hopes of some day this type of work may lead me somewhere. I have no idea where, but hopefully somewhere. :)
Looks great!! Sure wish I lived by the ocean so I could take pics
like this. Thanks for sharing the pics as well as the technical
information. One question if you do not mind. I noticed that you
are using pbase to host your pictures, so I assume that you not
selling these images. Are you doing this so that you get practice
so you can do SI some day (long term) or other magazine work. Just
curious.

Again great work. Sure beats taking pics of flowers and birds =)

...I don't follow the complaint threads much. Are people complaining about skin tones for this camera? I don't see them to be any different than the D70 other than a bit BETTER...more natural looking. Then again, I never had a problem with the D70 skin tones either. :)

I find some of my beauties on http://www.modelmayhem.com

The others such as Racquel are referrals from other girls.

Another girl I have worked with, Sabrina, is a graphic artist and she designed the logo for me which is a Photoshop Layer that I simply duplicate onto whatever photo I want it on.

How she made it? Two different fonts and painted a line between my name and photography. :)

I understand and I personaly would have been very proud to be able to make shots anywhere as well as these.
Darrell
now, if a magazine wanted the pic and to have that cleaned up, I'd
definately do it. :)
A beautiful young lady for sure. The lighting seems perfect for
the wonderful golden skin tone of your model.

The next to last shot (# 5) with Racquel lying on the sand I see
what may just be light reflections on her leg that is somewhat
distracting.

Otherwise great series of shots of this young lady.

Well done!

Darrell
