Your best shot

But here is one I had printed at 24x36.
wow, was it not pixelated at such large size? did you use some
sort of resizing software like genuine fractal or the like?
Nope, I just took the original file into print. It looks fabulous!
This is full frame, Daniella. I found this Juvenile Redtail one day
in the summer. I couldn't believe how close he let me get. I got
tons of flight shots, poses, he was a great find.
yes a great find. it's good to know that 8mp is enough to produce
a good quality print of such large size. was the print expensive?
$18.92 Cdn at Sams Club.

There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'.

It is a single exposure, 30 seconds at ISO 800. The sky was actually pretty noisy, but with careful RAW processing, and curves adjustment in PS2, I was able to minimize the noise. Then by masking out the rocks, I was able to use moderatly agressive noise filtering with Noise Ninja to smooth out the sky.

I actually took this photo over a year ago, but was never happy with how it came out. A week ago, after a years worth of learning photoshop, I gave it another try, and in 15 minutes, I finally had the picture I wanted. I still want to play with the sky a bit more to make the stars stand out more starkley, but its a tough tradeoff with noise and foreground/background contrast.

It looks even better on 13x19 print with my i9900, and I just sent it off for a 20x30 poster with ElCo.
