Which M42 adapter should I buy from Ebay for my Pentax DS? (Or should I buy some elsewhere?)

Fuji S20 Pro.

You can get the genuine Pentax one for $30 at pentaximaging.com

Or you can get a Kalt or Bower one for $15 from B&H. I have a Kalt and ordered one more this week. A few others also use Kalt and while it may not be as perfect a fit as the Pentax one (I don't know for sure as I don't have a Pentax adapter) it still works very well. People will scare you that it will get stuck on your camera and will be a bear to get off, but I never had that problem with the one I have.

Cheers

30USD is a way rather expensive.

The ones (5USD/piece) on ebay have problem focusing to infinity?

I may ask the buyers.

Yep, no argument there.

You found some for $5? Can you please post a link? I am sure others (including me) would very much like to pickup a couple at that price. The lowest I could find on eBay was about $13 shipped.

If the outer ring of the adapter is wide and has a hole in it for the lens mount pin to lock into, then it will come between the lens and the mount and will effect infinity focusing.

If the outer ring is thin, then it will sit flush with the lens mount and will not effect infinity focusing. However, since there is no hole for the lens mount pin to lock into, there is spring clip on the inner side of the adapter to hold the adapter in place.

Hope my explanation was not too confusing. You should be able to tell which is which by looking at the pictures of the adapter.

Neither of those will allow infinity focus. The flange is too wide.
