I have a colleague going to Russia, she has agreed to bring back a couple of lenses from Russia. I asked her to get me the Zenitar 16mm fisheye in K mount and the Jupiter-9 85mm in m42 mount. Are there any others that I should consider instead of these two (I don't think I can ask for more than a couple).

Where will she find these lenses in Russia? Any particular shop? In Moscow.

I would suggest the Peleng 8mm Fisheye, if you are into such things :-)

It's not great, but it is a lot of fun and a fraction of the cost of buying the Japanese equivalent!

In addition to Zenitar 16 FE or instead of?

In addition to :-)

They produce very different images on a DSLR.

The Zenitar gives a very sharp image that can be easily de-fished to produce a nice (and still reasonably sharp) rectilinear result.

The Peleng still produces a wild (almost) circular fisheye shot on a DSLR.

The only issues I have with the Peleng are the silly lens cap that won't stay on (often a problem with Russian lenses) and a bright ring around the edge of the image (although this goes away once stopped down).

But you might think about one or more of the Hartblei Tilt Shifts if you would like such things. I don't know which lenses are available in Pentax K mount, but I do see an EBay store selling the 65mm and 80mm T/S's (not the Super Rotators) in K Mount right now.

If you would be that person who goes to Russia. And if you could speak russian language, then for sports purposes you could try to find some privatte seller, meet him and buy something.

In other cases it is easier just to use e-bay.

But If you speak russian, then you could trythis service too (for example):

It's strictly a long shot, but you might want to keep your eyes open for the very rare Russian Zenitar K 85/1.4 (yes, in K mount).
