I have a done a search without any luck.

I can view dual monitors but I want to view the same image on two different monitors. (Cloned) As im going through photographs with a client, I want them to be able to view a seperate monitor so they dont have to look over my shoulder. Anyone have any input on how I can do this.

Just set the monitors up to mirror one another, rather than as extra real estate.

Under System Preferences, select Displays. There, select Arrangement. In the bottom left hand corner is a box labeled Mirror Displays. Check it and you're good to go!

I have been messing with DELL on the phone for two weeks now, they sold me a splitter cable that worked but really screwed up the colors, got a refund on that so they said I need a new video card, $160 to make this work. Ok, I baught it. Got to the house, pulled my pc apart and guess what, same video card !!!!!!!!!!!!! All this time, the pc they sold me two weeks ago was already equipted with what i need and they never said anything about that setting!! As you can tell im not a pc person. Thanks a bunch!

Funny. I never have problems like this with my Mac.

But, dude, Dells don't cost as much as those expensive Macs...unless your time is worth something.

I use a bit of software called ultramon (do a google) to manage my 3-monitor setup. One of the many things it offers is mirroring, which is exactly what you want. Never used it before but I've just tested it and it works fine.

The best feature for me is that it lets me have a separate taskbar on each screen, so my apps get spread across 3 taksbars depending on which screen they're on - invaluable.

That really depends on the video card ;)

ATI just released a $350 card capable of powering TWO 30" displays.

And "running alot" should never kill a video card if it was of any quality at all. Even a good $60 video card made by ATI or NVidia should last at least as long as your CPU.

since my pc is running a lot, i had also to replace my videocard.
but they are much cheaper than 160 usd. 60 usd max.

Perhaps you mean that Macs are as cheap as those Dells. Dell will sell you a POS computer that doesn't hold much quality, but they will do so inexpensively. Apple (and some other companies) will sell you a powered system that will last due to quality and support, but you will pay a fair price.

If you can't afford a fair price, than a Dell is better than nothing. However I would never advise anyone to buy a Dell if they can aford it, buy a Lenova (formerly IBM) or Toshiba first. Or heck, get a Mac :)

Tyler

Note: Dell does make some nice quality computers, but they are no longer "cheap" and are in a few cases more expensive than a similar product from Apple or another vendor.

This advice is for MacOSX, not for a Windows machine.

It's a whole lot harder and unintuitive under Windows. I have to do it at work all the time :
