Does anyone know if items queried using "psaug06" in the search criteria on B&H's website are eligible for the latest Nikon rebates? I emailed B&H customer service and their reply was:
"At the many Photographic trade shows B&H supports, our representatives
present at these events, give out special sales flyers for attendees.

This literature contains "SHOW SPECIALS" for these participants.
In order for customers to order these special promotions on our web site, these
products are given special codes with the designation "PSMAR"

More details with
ordering instructions, and product related info, including rebates
are listed in the Specials Catalog you received."

Not sure what this "specials catalog" is, but if someone else does, can you be so kind as to enlighten me?
Thanks

The B&H discounts have absolutely nothing to do with the Nikon Rebates. The Nikon rebates apply to the products listed in the rebate form and are paid by Nikon directly to you and has absolutely nothing to do with B&H (other than they help to promote the Nikon rebates because it stimulates their sales). The B&H discount program is just a different price that you would pay B&H to buy and has nothing to do with Nikon.

All Nikon cares about is that you bought the product from an authorized distributor. Nikon doesn't care what you paid for it. So, by all means if there's a product you want that Nikon says is eligible for a rebate and B&H has a special price, you can take advantage of both.

Back in May, I bought the 70-200 VR with a B&H code.
Got the discount AND the rebate check

That's great news. I intend on purchasing that very lens. I've been lusting over it for a while. This is probably the best deal out there.
Thanks for your input

I just put my order in on the 70-200VR as well. I fully expected to get the rebate as I remembered this being asked earlier in the year and kept it in mind for when the planets aligned (IE Rebates, Code, and cash in pocket). :)
It is strange that the "Rebate Available" is not listed for PSAUG06
items.

That's because the discount code is nearly 3 months old and the rebate was announced last Friday.

I know from experience that B&H will honor the code discount AND give you the needed paperwork to file for the rebate. Not just with Nikon. I bought a Lexar CF card using the code last week and was given the rebate info for that at checkout.

I ordered yesterday a 70-200, TC-17E, and SB-800, all with rebates in the PSAUG, and called B&H to confirm that they will work for "Select & Save" Nikon program. This makes for $300 off with nikon, and anoher $150 from the PSAUG, it's almost enough for a Tamron 180mm macro :)

I just received my 12-24 f/4 ordered with the PSAUG code. Included in the box was the yellow rebate form, which I had already downloaded anyway.

yeah, I spent half a day deciding between the 12-24 and tc-17 :). Good reason won in the end, since I could go with a Tokina, but the discount they give to the 12-24 was extremely tempting... Now if they would give a discount like that to the 200mm f/2 VR ... :)

I think you did pretty well for yourself. I'm going to take it out for a spin this weekend, but I am very pleased with my initial shots out of the 12-24. The color saturation is a pleasant surprise; the colors pop much more so than with my 20 f/2.8.

I was hesitant to pull the trigger given the excellent reputation of the Tokina, but the rebate in conjunction with the discount code gave me the nudge I needed.

Can anyone advise what the discount is on the 12-24 and also the 70-200 vr?

If you're asking about the B&H discount, just go to their website
with the discount code and look at the prices yourself. If you're
asking about the Nikon rebate, go to http://www.nikonusa.com and
look at the "special offers" program - everything that has a rebate
is listed.

Its not that I am too lazy to do what you suggest, its just that I am living out of the US (which means that I cannot provide a US address to register.

What this means (i think), is that I cannot procedd to checkout- and it is at the checkout that one receives the info on the discount information. If this is incorerct then please advise me on what to do!

Many Thanks

No checkout required. The B&H pricing is shown right in the search page after you search for the discount code and find the product you are interested in - you don't even have to add it to your shopping cart. The Nikon rebate is a Nikon program that has nothing to do with B&H and is described here: http://www.nikonusa.com/fileuploads/pdfs/SelectandSave.pdf .

Ok,

I know how to get to the search page and I can see the non discounted prices. What I need to know is where do I enter the discount code? There is no box (that I can see) where you enter a discount code.

I was aware that the Nikon rebate was a separate discount provided directly by Nikon.

Many Thanks for your info

You go to B&H and type PSAUG into the search field and tell it to search on that. I then produces a listing of all products that were originally offered at a special price on that deal. You either scroll through that list or you pick a particular manufacturer to narrow the list (often "Nikon"). When you then find a product you are interested in, you compare that price to the normal price you find for that product without going through the search with the code to see if the item is still on special or not. If it is, you add that one to your cart. It will have a different product ID than the normal item and that's how the cart knows it has a different price.

Thanks John,

Finally "got it"! I guess I was assuming from other promotional codes that I have used that you put the code in at the end.

Interestingly, the promotiional code gives a cheaper price on the US version of the 70-200 VR versus the import! When added to the Nikon Rebate, it seems quite a deal especially coming from Europe!

Cheers
