B&H lists 70-200f4IS "In Stock"

The 75-300 is junk.......any version of it.
Mr. Ed,

Certainly, the lens to which you refer is not among Canon's best, but to conclude that it is "junk" could perhaps be overstating the case just a teeny weeny bit.

When I ask which Canon lenses are best,
people tell me to 'go to L.'

But you need to consider that it is f2.8 after all. So, paying only 400-500 more for that over the f4 IS is a steal (relatively).

But what I heard is that the IQ of 70-300 IS is a lot better than the old 75-300.

I don't really think the 24-105L is overpriced. It is about the same price as 24-70L. Granted that the 24-70L is f2.8 vs 24-105 as f4 but 24-105 has better range and IS. So, I think it is fair.

where did you get that from?

or you could wait a year and save a hundred bucks or so....if you think that's "worth it"...:).
