AMEX price matching for E10?

Has anyone tried to price match with the AMEX blue card to get the lowest price on an e10?

If so, what did you end up paying & what ad did you use? Will they accept these generic internet ads that might be for a gray market/import (price would end up being in the $900 range)?

Hi, Steve! I have done the match with AMEX. They Do accept the match up to $250. They accept the ads from grey market. In my case I got $250 rebate even earlier then I have to pay for the bill. Just call them and they will tell you the # of this department. If you have difficulties, let me know and I'll try to find a # for you. Good Luck! Take advantage of this excellent program!

I have watchgaurd on my credit card which sounds like the same thing (maybe is the same company) and my experience was the same. They were actually very nice about it. I had submitted the paperwork at the 3 month mark which was the cutoff and for some reason it didn't go through so when I called about it the price had dropped even more so they gave me the refund on the lowest. And yes, they accepted the shadiest grey market dealer I could find on the internet. I just printed it out and faxed the sheet to them and they gave me $250. That felt nice.

Office Max will price match any web advertised price, including those "too good to be true" grey market retailers. I just bought an E20 from them and got $500 off retail. They also have the E10.

Zero Delivery. Actually, they knocked off about $450 because they take into consideration the cost of the competitor's overnight shipping. Below is the info I used.

Has anyone purchased an e10 for less than 1300 recently? Still would love to get it around $1000 so I can then price match it down to $800.

Any help out there is greatly appreciated!

Where I first heard of the Officemax price matching deal, a person had bought an E10 for somewhere around $900 I think.
 
By chance did you try matching an E20P first? Does officemax know to check for P versus N models?

Otherwise, zerodelivery, without tax, is actually a bit cheaper than the price match.

Another cool thing is, they delivered it in an Officemax truck and
I had it before noon the next day. No UPS man playing soccer with
it :)

I tried to do a price match with OfficeMax on an E-20 today..I found a price online from A&M Photoworld for $1189.00. I sent the price to OfficeMax per their online price match policy. The reply back was I would have to buy at the listed retail of $1999.98 and if they could verify the price I would get a refund for the difference. How did you buy from OfficeMax and what procedure did you use?I would hope you could obtain a price match before you commit and risk having them turn you down! Any help you can provide is apopreciated!

I recieved a reply stating that they would match the price+overnight shipping costs and that as soon as I did place the order to send them the order #. They guaranteed the price quoted in the email for 14 days. Sooooooo.... I placed the order, returned the price match quote with my order # and within a couple of hours I recieved notice that my account had been credited the amount guaranteed in the price match quote and less than 24 hours lated the camera was delivered to my door.
 
So, you got an E20 for $1189?

No..I am still searching for a good price from a reliable dealer. I don't want a grey Market Camera.I am going to contact Amex and see what they say about their price quarantee. They have a program where they will refund up to $250.00 if you find a cheaper price on an item you buy using their card. I need to find the conditions.
So the search for a good price continues..any help is appreciated.Thanks again
