Does anyone else get tearing when looking at glare conditions?
I get vertical tearing that makes it really hard to compose the shot.

Sometimes I get it when the conditions are only what I would call marginally glary

here is an exaple that caused tearing in the EVF...

btw, my EVF is set to bright, I might have to turn it down.

Thanks,
Mark

Yes, I have experienced it too on a boat with sun glaring off the water. I keep getting underexposed pictures until I compensated my exposures and also switched to spot focusing.

Every digital camera I've ever seen does this, it is not unique to the Minolta. Look in the other forums for other reports with other cameras. For example the CP900 did this on just about every light, the CP950 was better, the CP990 worse again. It is caused by overdriving the LCD display in an attempt to keep the image as bright as possible. It is a property of the LCD, when a column is overdriven it effects all cells in that column.

Hello,

Exactly what is "tearing" and where is it in the picture?

Thanks....
