I was in the neighboring town of Wittlich this afternoon and it was very quiet. I snapped a couple of shots with the R1.

This is the little fountain and bronze on the Pariser Platz.

This is the Markt Platz from different sides. On Friday this is the setting for a busy farmers market.

Photography makes the impossible possible....you can capture a moment, freeze it in time and keep it forever!

But then it would be ordinary. Can't win can we. ;-)

You and the R1 do well together Busch.

thank you very much! Now I have to admit something myself. I went to Wittlich because there was to be a meeting with about 10 Ferarri automobiles and I wanted to get some shots of them. The joker: it was yesterday! I simply misread the newspaper. Oh well, it was a nice day for a little drive. ;-)

thanks very much! They try to keep the old Markt Platz in it's original condition and colors as much as possible.

Thanks so much! Yes, I guess it has that old time look to it. Actually, it is a very modern little town with almost 20,000 population. Compared to my village and our 418, Wittlich is the "Big City". ;-)

...makes me long to be back in Europe for a few weeks, roaming around and drinking coffee and watching people and taking pictures.

And the occasional museum wouldn't be to shabby, either.

Very nice colors.

Very pretty and quaint... I love the brightly-colored houses.

What's with the TV antennae? Do they not have cable TV in that part of the world?

Thanks for the little tour of your part of the world, Busch.

Great colours with those buildings, by the way - even on a dull day.

Multi housing units? They have antennae on the building I live in and I don't have cable. Yes they do have cable in the building for the very few here who have family that will pay for them.

Jerry when returning to England for the first time since leaving 40 years ago. My brother had a very small antenna about 12 inches long, like the ones in Gary's photo, it seems it is some kind of satellite antenna and it produced HD television as good as N American cable if not better. Maybe Gary can explain better.

thanks very much! The Heide is beautiful and I really like it up there but it is a little too far to drive for the weekend.

Thanks very much! I also enjoy the sidewalk cafes and ice cream shops. I'm afraid the season is about finished for this year.

thanks very much! Yes, cable is available in most places but most folks around here go for Sat reception. There are also some that stay with the old antenna system although the number of stations is limited then. We have HD Sat reception in our house and it is really high quality.

There are also quite a few people who have a tech class amateur radio license or higher and use small yagi antennas to hit the repeaters.

thank you so much for looking and commenting. Yes, the weather was not the best but for this time of the year, not all that bad either.
