I'm STILL pondering about this whole thing, my friend that is ordering it for me has been quite patient haha.
The one thing i am going over in my mind is from my original post between a XTi/SD800/900. I have put it between the XTi and 800 due to the $100 difference not really worth it, plus no IS, and only thing it has going for it is 10MP, which the XTi has .
So it has come down to a bout, a bout of size and investment. With the SD800 i'm set. 400 bucks, already have the mem card. done.
XTi 750 (or 850 with lens) camera, with a long look ahead at the investment of lenses.
The last thing to ponder is. -- With the stock lens will I be able to get better pics than the SD800? (generally) .. and the answer is most likely yes.
Also , not as big of a deal, but compact cameras you can get away with more, can set to no noise, people don't know you are taking pictures, etc. I have come to the realization regardless I will want both eventually. If i get the small one to do with parties, and hanging out for now, i'll want a semi-professional camera. clarity is just better with dSLR
