Zoo Pictures

I'll try and post some exposure info, but it was all on automatic using the matrix metering. For water shots I was using a CP to try and cut out glare. White balance was set to AWB except for the goat picture which I decided to try out the Cloudy setting (it was cloudy out) this improved color slightly, but it really just seemd to increase the red saturation.

I'm using the new firmware and the AF worked quite well for most shots. The I got a few blurry shots but they were not out of focus for the most part just long exposure being hand held. The one shot of the hugging monkeys is the one shot I wish the AF did a better job, but them being all black, I couln't tell they were out of focus until I opend it in PS.--Jeff

What zoom factor in most of the shots?

I don't know, I was happy with the 200mm, but I guess a 2x converter would be nice. I don't think a tripod would be mandatory on a sunny day. It was very overcast so there was not much light and I was still getting decent shutter speeds for the focal lengths I used, but anything more and I think camera shake would be a concern.

What do you have your contrast set to? I have mine at -1 and some shots came out with good contrast, some are only so-so, although the lighting wasn't that good and some shots were behind glass, which probably had something to do with it :).--Jeff

I think contrast is -1, EV -.03 and color +1(?)

Since I don't know much about that stuff, I got the preferred settings from this board and always use those.
One day I should learn what the heck they all do.

I only posted 2 pictures from behind glass(2 of the birds). Most of the ones I took behind glass weren't too good, I just booted them.

I think your set turned out good though.
