My Mother in Law said she wasn't using her camera anymore and asked if I'd like it, when I saw what it was I naturally said yes.

So simple but they were effective. Do you know how much they sold for and what would have been the average wage then?

There's far more than that :-)

I have the Six-20 with Flash, it looks pretty much the same as yours from the front.

My family owned a Brownie camera when I was growing up. I was allowed to take it to 6th grade camp. I was the "big deal" because of having that camera with me. But our Brownie camera had a flip type door on top and you looked down into the camera to take the photo. These have a handle on top and I don't remember ours having that. I am certain it was a Brownie camera. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I suppose the camera was made in the mid to late 1950's.

Maybe this sort of one?

Does it have anti-shake and support TTL flash?? :)
8-)

Anti shake? Yes, some had tripod sockets whereas others had instructions on positioning on a firm base. Flash was definately TTL. The flash went off and the light came "Through The Lens". Actually I have a circa 1920 model folding brownie that can record data well beyond what you can store in EXIF. You can record the ambient temperature (if you have a thermometer handy) or your latitude and longitude (without requiring GPS - but a map would help).

They also make excellent wireless web cams. I have three on top of my monitor.

Thanks a lot Greg, that looks very much like the camera. Although I thought it was more square than these. It did have the type of flip top though. Maybe I remember it being more square because it had a leather case on it all the time. Dang I wish I still had that camera. I think it was eventually thrown out! UGH!!!

Here's the picture of the one I had. The one on the left. The Brownie Hawkeye. I think I still have some pictures from it somewhere here in the house. Probably in a box high on a shelf. I sure did enjoy that camera when I was so much younger. My toys have gotten more expensive. Quite a bit more expensive.
