I am sure that there have been various threads but could not find the answer.

With many of the new Casio's not having a viewfinder, I was wondering how bright the LCD was. We currently have a EX-P600 and thinking of replacing it with a newer model. Basically use the camera outdoors in bright sun. On the P-600 we have to use the viewfinder most of the time because the LCD is not bright enough in the sun.

Any comments?

I have S600. Screen is very transreflective so it's useable in sunlight.

I used to have Z750 much worse screen relatively

My Z850 has a great LCD in bright sunlight. There have been times I thought I would not be able to view the scene and the LCD was bright enough for me to get the shot without the view finder. So far I have never had to use my view finder. It is a nice comfort zone to have.

The new Casio s770 has a very bright LCD screen.

Big, too (2.8" I believe).

The z850's screen is about three times brigher than the z750. I've had both and the difference is huge. It's also nice that the 850 also has a viewfinder.

Hi,

the new Casios have way brighter screens compared to the P600. Also they do allow manual adjustement of the screen brightness.

So I´d say that there are only rare occations where I would prefer to have a viewfinder still.
