Rechargeable Li CRV3?

I've been wondering about rechargeable CR-V3 batteries with *ist D/DL/DS/DS2. The manual for the DL warns that rechargeable CR-V3 batteries may not work with the camera. I've been thinking of using the Mobypower RCR-V3 rechargeable Lithium Ion battery in lieu of the NiMh AA's.

Has anybody had experience with this battery?

I'm also interested in this topic, especially the possible influence on the AF speed of the higher voltage CRV3 accus compared to the lower voltage NiMH accus. Latter ones last longer, I guess, but also have lower voltage.

I got some delkins as wlachan says on his link these are just the same as the ones he uses with a different badge. As has been said before make sure you get ones that are regulated. The delkins put out 3.2v without load and 2.99v when loaded, some have been known to put out 3.7v without load.

As for the Delkins ... the charger is really cheaply made and doesn't appear to seat the battery properly so they don't make good contact ... this was fixed with some duck tape ( as everyting in my house is ;) )

I've only used them for a single charge so far and I can say that the AF is definately faster than with my NiMh batteries (admittedly old 1700mah ones) but I was wonderfully unimpressed with the stamina ... they lasted a pathetic 80 odd shots (all AF about 50% flash and 3 second review on LCD plus some additional viewing) ... even those 4 year old NiMh batteries last longer than that (if the self discharge doesn't get them first). I'm hoping that they just need to be charged a few times to reach decent longevity. The AA's have been exhausted and I've put my delkins back in (they have been sitting for about 2/3 weeks which probably would have killed my AA's) ... so we shall see.

Pretty much my RCR-V3 too, but they will pickup the capacity after being used/recharged a few times.

I have two pairs that I've been using with my DS for the past year and a half. No problems, and the voltage is good

I have been using some rechargeables CRV3s for a while. The brand name is Camelion.

They haven't fried my DS yet, and I notice no difference in AF speed from the non-rechargeable CRV3's. I briefly tried rechargeable AAs but didn't like it much. Can't think of one advantage they would have in fact.

Saliant points in favour of the RCRV3s, imho are the lack of self discharge and the capacity. The big drawback is that they die without warning but I think NiMH do that too. Because of that I would recharge after 5-600 shots (with possibly plenty of juice left).

(just changed batteries after 1100 shots to discover I had forgotten to switch back from regular CRV3s to rechargeable -- duh!)

There were a lot of old threads about the point, you can make a search. I've been using Uniross for almost a year. Stunning capacity, no discharging over time. I have to recharge them so rarily that I always have crv3 non-rechargable batteries with me for the case uniross went out. If K10D doesn't work with crv3 this is not a good news.

They can do this. I noticed that after going from a full-battery indicator (though a couple hundred shots in) then taking a few flash shots, it went to half then empty after a few shots.

How many shots are you getting out of your rechargeable CRV3s?

I don't have an estimate, only a lower bound :-)

Because of the sudden death thing, since I got them, I would try to recharge them before they die on me. So the max would be around 5-600, but with possibly plenty of juice left.

I have only around 3000+ shots on my DS and those were (roughly) 2 sets of standard CRV3s (around 1000 shots each) and about three smallish cycles of RCRV3s.
