Hi

I spotted maria, my little girl, deep in thought and literally took the camera out and shot....then a little processing.

Does it work or would you treat it differently please?

Thanks

Ray

A really nice capture, Ray. Funny how these spontaneous, shoot-from-the-hip shots are often better than anything you could produce from hours of planning. Well done.

it seems there's a halo around the shoulders
I find it kinda distracting

For the background, I guess I would go with lowering the saturation a lot rather than total desaturation.

Whatever the technique, it's your daughter. The loveliest subject of all. And if you can go to that place in time when you look at this picture, then you're done. (often mentioned cliché but it's true right?) :)

Beautiful, Ray. I wouldn't change a thing.

p.s. Has she been swinging many cats lately?

I like it, but as a thought - since you wanted to capture Maria in deep thoughts, maybe desaturate the coat and just leave the "thought" on a face in color ? Regards and best wishes,

Lovely shot. Lovely girl. Lovely moment. And a great frame, as always. I wouldn't desaturate the jacket - it so well suits her coloring, and this isn't a studio portrait type deal.

I have 1% less enthusiasm for the background. The tonal contrasts draw my eye.
