It's my Sister and Brother-in-Law's 40th Wedding anniversary next Sunday. My wife has managed to "acquire" an old photo - from their garden shed no less.

Heres the original from 1966 (4x6ish):

And my A4 restoration:

Comments are welcome but remember... it's my first restoration :o)

Those were the days eh!!

So what am I doing wrong? I'm pasting the Zenfolio links like this (without the " ")

Before:
"

"

After:
"

"

A4 Crop (to be framed):
"

"

What do I need to alter to make the photos visible to other users (I can see them when I'm logged in)?

Kevvan, probably that's it - you're logged in. We need your password to see what you can see. Or seize the password...
Well, no - let's try to hack you..

Bart,

The idea is that you can see the photos in this thread without having to go to Zenfolio.

Heres one from Smugmug:

Can you see this??

The other (Zen) one isn't. Too esoteric, I think...
BTW, links to my pBase account don't work if I protect them by a password.

Bart,

Thanks for your time and help - I think I have solved the problem :o)

Access control at individual picture level was set to owner only. I've opened up access so you should be able to see all the pictures now.

Yes???

You're there - Links work!.
Restoration looks great - well done! Time-consuming job...

Just a little comment: the gold text looks like a stain on the groom's costume, when you are looking at the faces. Different placement/ color?

OK, this is my personal opinion.

Don't put the reflection in their eyes, it doesn't seem right or fitting at all in an old picture like that or at that wide angel. They seem to be hypnotized by some crazy alien. :p

Don't crop the picture, the woman is of short stature and seems even shorter now. Her clothes is worth seeing also.

Put any text in the frame and not in the picture.

more restoration and less editing. ;)

nice start though.

leave some of the confeti in the air coming down so we know where the debris came from....or take it out of their hair.
Great first try....mine was not nearly as good !!!!

Kevan,

You've done a good job with this photo.
A few subjective suggestions:

move the gold text out of the picture. It should be on the frame/matte, not in the photo.

Also, I find the deep black of the background distracting, especially considering that the subjects (his and her faces) do not have such contrast in them. Try more of a selenium tone I think you'll like the results.

Finally, select just the subjects in photoshop and sharpen them a bit (to avoid over-sharpening the background).

i'm certain they will love this restoration. It is a wonderful thing you are doing.

Bob,

There isn't any confetti in the air - what might appear to be confettin in the original is simply water stains and other marks :o)

Thank you all for your suggestions
