Hi all,

Some photo's from around where I live in Thailand and where I travelled recently to in Korea.

I've got a good night pic that I wanted to submit to the last fujimugs contest, but alas... forgot my usb transfer cable at home... the last night of the contest. oh well... next time.

Few funny pics (I thought) in the collection as well.

The F30 is a fun camera to shoot with, but I do wish I had more "power" occassionally. Enjoy having a pocket camera that I can take conveniently with me anywhere though.

Hope you enjoy. Constructive criticism welcome.

These are great photos, thanks for sharing the tour, it looks lovely!
And if that is the night shot you were speaking of, its super!

Thanks Kimberly. That is the night shot. Wish I could have gotten more from around the area.. Very full of life.

The shots of the monkeys diving in the fountain are a little blown, but they capture the fun they were having.

The shots of Korea were taken last Sunday while I had time to walk up to Seoul Tower. Beautiful day and there were quite a few folks out enjoying it.

Missed out on the last few challenges due to travel.. hope to make this next one though.

I've got an "old" Dimage 7 that I never really learned how to shoot with properly. I need to practice with it and my fuji for a while. Have a lot to learn.

Cheers,
Mike

hey, these are great...like the monkey's bathing...could those be Leisure Time shots for the next fujimugs?...hmmm, there's an idea, maybe a trip to the zoo is in order...

the black and white conversions look good too...

thanks for showing these...

m..... damn.. you know.. your right :-) I need to expand my horizons when it comes to photo topics!

wow. you are mastering your camera really fast! you black&white picture called "finally" looks really film like not a digital at all. how you managed to achieve this? waiting for your next shots.

Thanks saulukas. I got lucky on that shot. I already had my camera set up from previous shots. When I came around the corner, the old guy was like 2 steps from the bottom... but going really slow. flicked my camera on real quick and got him as he finished the last step.

I did all the crops/tuning in Picasa2, but I think the results are acceptable.

I remembered, that I had played a lot with that photo though. I went ahead and posted the original to the album if you want to check it out. But on Picasa, to get the look I did:

Sharpened
Auto adust on contrast/color
Adjust to bring out darker areas a bit
Desaturated a bit
Warmify (Seemed to bring the speckles in the steps and road better)
I actually liked the photo at this step (uploaded as well)
Desaturated a bit more
Convert to B&W
Brought out darker areas again just a bit more
Added 2 steps of film grain.

I haven't done any of this long enough to get any kind of workflow down. Picasa2 makes it pretty easy and fun to try a bunch of different things and it's really easy and quick to undo changes.

Just having fun. :-)

mlh64,

tahnx for the answer. checked your other version "finally with a little PP" and i like it too. when i read your post i just realized that i never tried to desaturate any photo. should give a try.
