Hi Stan,

Well both are hand held ;-(, I'm not a real tripod user, but this time hated it I didn't had it with me.

So I shall better my life and put the tripod in my car, so next time no excuses for 'blurred' images. ;-)

your friend,

Hi Curt,

Thank you for the nice comments and I promise next time I wil use a tripod.

Jacques,

Thank you for posting the originals -- that was really interesting to see.

I hope, though, that you didn't think that I doubted your original statement about them being that colorful originally. I meant not to express doubt, but rather amazement. I know you are an honest man.

Thanks again, my friend.

Hi adrienne,

Yes both came more or less like this out of the camera, I only used
brightness, lightness and contrast, resized and a bit of USM.

the originals can be found (2MB both) at:

http://www.pbase.com/image/946748

and

http://www.pbase.com/image/946752

And yes I hated it, not having a tripod with me. I hardly ever take
it with me as I don't feel very comfortable using it, but here I
had to have it with me.

So I 'll put the tripod in my car and try to use it at this kind of
occasions.

Your friend, with love,

Hi adrienne,

It didn't even crossed my mind for a split second, the idea you would doubt my words. Readings peoples comments for some time, I think does give a very good idea of the person. And I do like you very much, not doubting about any thing you write in your comments or postings.

And I think we are very lucky to have a real bunch of people on this forum, we can trust, even we didn't meet them in person.

BTW for viewing purposes I think we don't need to have the originals on the net, but maybe for landscapes it would be nice to post 1000 pixel wide images, to enjoy those at full screen resolution.

Hi John,

Thank you for the nice comment about the pictures.

And yes you are very right on the point of reorganizing the galleries. It's just the way the albums have been created with what the chaos came for free. ;-)

Well I have planned to make a Crete and a Paris gallery.

But first there might come La Defense 1, La Defence 2, as I do have some nice photographs of offices and La grande Arche.

Tot ziens op het forum,

Hello jacques,

I was surprised to see these more traditional shots, and like others, noticed that the first was a bit blurred. The second is more classical and benefits considerably from that lovely streak of light late in the day.

But interestingly, when I viewed the first shot in its large version, I think I may prefer it. I like the impressionistic effect of the late pink light in a larger image.

Yes, it's always good to carry a tripod around, but don't let it stifle your creativity. And again, thank you for sharing these lovely images with us.

Best regards,

Robert
Hi you all,

Two of today, just after sunset.

And yes realy digital no velvia or other magic fine films involved,
just the result of a camera with other characteristics under
certain circumstances.

Realy small images embedded, just for the peace of our emperor:

and

And for those willing to open a new window also at 800 wide:

and

BTW I do like to have the oportunity to look at the real fine
scanned film images of some of my very beloved forum members, so
the velvia statement just is there as kind of gimmick, certainly
not with other thoughts,

Hi Jacques,

We've been spoilt with quite a few good sunrises and sunsets these days in our country. I see you've taken the opportunity also.

You managed to capture some strong colors! (Strange things whitebalance can do under these circumstances, don't you think?)

Thanks for sharing,
Alfred

Hi Robert,

I know it's kind of late reply, but as yesterday night it already was 3 in the morning, I just had to go to bed.

Yes these might be more traditional shots, but just like the light and the strange blue tints. Bot after sunset, so only the blue lights still is there as it is scattered the most. The red stripe of light reflection of the red at some clouds hanging just above the horizon.

And about the tripod, wel I seem to be knd of tripod hater. Well just think I didn't just it enough to feel a bit of comfortable with it. And the use of a tripod wel it doesn't fit my character very well, as I do lik eto have a look, see a scene and just want to capture it right away.

So Sunday night at sunset I took the tripod to do some practicing, well I'm not that sure I will post any of that session, as it just have been tripod training shots.

The first indeed is quite motion blurred, but I too had the feeling in this one the colors, the silhouettes and the slighty still white of the birch, were tellingg the mood.

Thank you for your thoughts,

your friend,

Hi Alfred,

Yes we did have some fine sunsets, but we also did have very grey days too. So a bit of the one and a bit of the other. Daylight is just to short during this time of year, well as we do have to earn our livings too.

The strange things happening to white balance also happends as one is using film. Not all films will change as dramaticly as the F707's white balance, but some will give same color shift. Color shift we don't notice as our brain does have quite good white balance.

Thanks for your comments,
