ok....i was out all day trying to find someting to submit. Ugly ugly day...so sun...overcast and damp.....not much luck shooting anything.
Kinda boring but what do you think.

interesting effect. nice contrast of bright and muted tones. if it were me i'd probably crop the right side of the photo just to the left of the lamppost. to me it's kind of distracting dead space. on the other hand that leaves you a square picture which may or may not be a good thing. how about a real tight crop of just the two runners? just thinking out loud. it definitely gives one the impression of "things in motion".

Hi Zipper!

Hmmm, to crop or not to crop? If that sidewalk didn't curve and lead one's eye right in, if the space on the right didn't contrast with the lack of space between the two joggers?

It certainly shows motion...

I like it, it totally tells the story. The motion streaks are
perfect.

yes...your right....im gonna try some cropping a bit...see how that works and upload a new version. But i dont want to crop too tight. I like the blur effect ive done on the trees. Not much to shoot at today..urgggg ..thank god for joggers at the Beaches--cheersZip:P - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -BFS: NOSticker Status: ON...but on upsidedownPie Chute: UnCorked Lens Cap: No dangle at any angle - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Hey Dee...yeah...im gonna try some creative cropping to get rid of that dead space. Hopefully it will improve the overall feel of the photo

Hey, Zip! Question: Is this a shot straight out of the camera, or did you apply the blur effect with PS? Either way, it's a nice shot. I can't wait to see the cropped version. I tend to agree with cUrVe that a tighter crop would help the shot. Life does go on outside these challenges...it's not always easy to find the time or situation to get the shot we want within the challenge rules and time constraints. I haven't been able to get my inspiration level up (it's me, not the challenge theme), so I'm struggling with this challenge, too. Just keep clicking...I'm sure you'll find something that really excites you to shoot a winning shot! Best wishes...nee (rdavis)

Hi Nee,

I performed the variable degrees of motion blur in PS. Im still a rookie in experimental stage. Having fun while im at it.
Drunk chicks think im hot...lol

Well...I'm not drunk, and not exactly a "chick" (married & a grandma, to boot!), but I think you're pretty hot ...well, your photos, that is! I don't get how to use Photo Shop Elements yet...I use a different editing program called PhotoImpact by Ulead. I'm familiar with it, so PSE gets left unused (until one of these days I have more time to figure it out -it takes a LOT of work being a grandma! LOL!). Cheers back atcha! Nee (rdavis) ;^D

ps. did you see the San Diego pics I posted earlier? I'd love to hear what you think of them. here's the link to my online gallery:

wow...how did i miss all this.

Your work keeps getting better and better. beautiful shots and excellent compositions.
"Brilliant Sky" is gorgeous, wonderful color!
"Strange Flower, Passion Purple, Working Bee" are beautiful! superb color.

I especially like "Headstones"...would love to see this in b&w. This photo would pop in b&w!
Fort Rosecrans almost looks like your using a fisheye lens. Great framing!
Nice angle on "Memorial Flag" too bad that darn tree is in the background.
"Hotel View and Another Sunset" are nice and rich saturated colors.Love it.

My fav is "Ocean Look" love how you've framed this shot. This is my kind of photo!

I also love "LightKeepers House" which is ery is neatly composed. Great light! if you should shoot this again take 1 small step to the left. Or knock down that middle bar in between the 2 white posts.

Nee, im proud to say your work is very impressive. Your ability to compose great shots from simple things have improved greatly. Keep up the good work.--cheersZip:P - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -BFS: NOSticker Status: ON...but on upsidedownPie Chute: UnCorked Lens Cap: No dangle at any angle - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Man...I guess it pays to check my threads...gosh, Zipper, I'm blown away by your comments! Thank you so much! I've really been feeling like a bit of a washout. I keep thinking my pics aren't too bad, but then no one seemed to be noticing them, so I figured they must not be very good after all. What a great boost your comments are! Thanks so much! You have totally made my day... Nee (rdavis-with a big smile on her face!)
