I really love the performance of the F30 for street photography. It's a very quick and 'stealth' camera, the definition 'point and shoot' is quite appropiate in this cases. I'l like to really thank Danny_only and HugoP (Hugo did not do anything directly, I just looked at his galleries on Danny input) for introducing me to this camera

But OF COURSE the F30 is much more than a P&S. I like the extended control you have over your settings in this a little camera and the excellent image quality output even at the high ISOs.

Below, a quick shot taken today. Comments, criticisms and suggestions most welcome, as usual.

Well its not my style of dress.... but you have captured an excellent shot, and she certainly seems totally obvlous to your presence. She looks like its been a long day.....

pictures. Its handling speeds, IQ and size are just great.

Hugo and many other posters here have been demonstrating its power. I wish more and more other cameras owners can discover this little gem.

Sometimes, I wish Fuji can make a fixed focal length f2.0 28mm (hugh DOF)DC with the latest SUPER CCD, user selectable NR setting, optional top mount optical view finder, detachable flash and OIS. The ultimate street pictures camera!

I am also interested in taking street pictures, but many times, I was too shy and did not dare to point my cameras to the people.

When I looked at the street pictures I took and taken by other others, I found ordinary people, just like ourself, not that many Catherine Zeta Jones and Paul Newman, Some are skinny, some are fat. pale, sun burnt, many hair, no hair, little hair. Sometimes I can even visualize myself being into the pictures, I guess this is the fun parts and importance of candid pictures, finding ourselves in these pictures.

The lady in your picture is overweight, me too (not to that extend, but alarm triggered), she needs to watch her weight, may be she knew but could not change too much about it, again it is just like me and many of us, having a hard time controlling our weight, I saw myself walking behind her back. You have captured a moment of the life of an individual, another creation of God. Which I think is great.

Another use of our F30 I can think of after seeing your picture is that, we can be taking pictures of friends and relatives, not all of them are beautiful by general standards, but I guess it is a challenge for us to seek the beautiful part of a single individual through our cameras and our skills. I believe all human being is beautiful, but some of their beauties were hidden by anger, grief, hurt and other emotions. The lady in the picture may be overweight, but she could be a beautiful mother or a beautiful wife in some people's eyes.

I definitely agree with you Danny, this is why respect is always important, this is my feeling toward this woman.

Maybe you can help me, I am an ex owner of F10 (allready broken when the Bali beach wave splash it). Now I want to buy another DC, I like point and shoot, High Sensitivity, OIS, powerfull Zoom, pocket/medium size. Which camera will you suggest? I will go to HongKong and NewTeritory, Which shop sell cheap price for Panasonic and Fuji, Where is the location?

Hi Priahk,

I guess a TZ1 class DC is what you want (grey market price now is around HK$2,700) , I want that too. The FZ7 has good ergonomic design but is very nosiy (I just brought a FZ5, poor in ergonomic, difficult to adjust aperture values when in AP mode, less noisy than FZ7 and has very good Image quaility).

Try considering the Canon 710IS, which is also a good choice, seek help from Canon Forum.

If you are taking the camera back to Indonesia (no official dealer's warranty is needed) and you want a good price, I believe you can find some chain stores in HK selling grey market cameras. I once brought a Canon A95 and FX1 from a chain store located right above the Wanchai Subway station, the first 4 characters of the store's name is COXE....

Avoid buying from shops which you have difficulty finding the shop names at the entrances. To play safe buy from "Broadway", "Fortress" and other large chain stores.

wow great pic. the big huge cross suggests that she is a devouted Christian and doesn't care about what people think of her. she is a fighter!
