My daughter's new name

What a lovely image(!)

Here's hoping that in due time, you'll be able to change your name.... to Grandpa Frank....

Now yer talking. :)

I love this shot and this type shot in general. Turn that DA*n flash off, find some natural light streaming in, and let your eye take you places. Most all shots you post here are technically very well done but a bit clinical for my eye -- nothing at all wrong with technically correct, clinically clean shots, mind you, but the natural light more creative shots are more to my liking. This one I like a LOT.

You've pretty much nailed my style, Phil. I'm not much of an artist, and regard technique as my strong point. And I've always favored simple, uncluttered images, with easily identifiable subjects.

Of course, some might not agree that blown highlights represent good technique ;-).

Outstanding shot Frank ! -- I agree with Phil's comment below -- the available light, the shallow depth -- great, great shot. You should be proud to hang this on your wall !!

As mentioned previously, my eBay purchased 85mm 1.4 came in this past weekend, so all I had was a chance to get about 20 snapshots of my kids in -- I have to admit, I was completely blown away ! And so was my wife -- the head / shoulders portraits just have 'the look' that you guys have been talking about -- I'm travelling on business this week and my pbase account has lapsed, but I'll post a couple soon ... this lens is just amazing.

Thanks again for the inspiration , and keep up the good work !
