Image resolution settings on SP350

have an Olympus SP350 and its driving me nuts. I want to set it up so that each time I turn it on, and no matter which mode I'm in (Auto, Scene, etc) that it will default to something other than the HQ setting for image resolution. Most of my photos I simply email, and so I would prefer the camera to default to the SQ1 or SQ2 settings and that I manually set it to HQ when I am taking a photo that I want the higher resolution for.

However I can't find anywhere in the manual or the menu on the camera how to do this. If I go to P mode, for example, and set the resolution to SQ1, when I switch the camera off and then back on again, its gone back to HQ and I then have to set it up again before taking a shot. All very frustrasting.

I used to have an Olympus C-40ZOOM and I know I could set up the default to a lower resolution on this (and in fact could set the default to different settings for each of the different modes, which was very handy)

Can anyone help me here???

You will find a setting that says something about "reset," or something similar. You want to make sure that it is turned to "off" and not on. Because by default, it is set to "on", which then turns your camera back to the original settings that came with the camera. This is quite an easy scenario to fix - takes just a second or two. Look for it on your menu within the camera.

On my C5050 under the Setup Menu I can turn the "All Reset" option Off and the camera then retains the settings. Check and see if your SP350 has the same menu option.
