Hi, Dumont - I'm pleased that they did good work for you, and encouraged that when my 7D locks up for good, they might be able to fix it (right now it's only occasionally, so I'd rather go with the devil I know). I like the profile on the cat, but on my monitor it seems a bit soft - was that due to editing, a factor of the TC (that'd be my guess), or doesn't that appear at all when you view it?

This is really "posting practice," so thanks for bearing with me. This was growing in the neighborhood back in May, but today I wanted to try out the LightRoom/CS2 combo ... it would really help if Adobe had some help text in their program, but I guess that'll come with the full release. I just noticed that, somewhere along the way, it lost its EXIF information (maybe it's a LightRoom setting I've yet to find)!

I swear i posted these last night but I can't find them. Must have missed a click i guess. My GF and I went walking in the woods yesterday and she spotted this little guy at the opening of his hole. She (my GF) is an excellent spotter but she won't take photo's. I'm afraid I would have walked right by this little guy if she hadn't spotted it. The horse was hooked to an Amish buggy parked at the bank. I just thought it made kind of a neat shot with the parking sign.

Hi Rich,

Yes that pic is quite a bit soft (kind of silly to post after mentioning the camera seems to focus better now... LOL) I think it is because the 50/1.4 with the 2x TC still has a shallow DOF and apparently the focus was more on the ear. Also at 800 iso some of the sharpness is reduced. I would have posted something sharper but since the camera came back late on friday have only done test shots. Good luck with your 7D, I have heard of some cameras not being repaired for lack of parts and others, like mine, repaired quickly. I suppose it depends on exactly whats parts are available when the camera is sent in... I would imagine KM had made extra parts as any manufacturer is supposed (?) to do. Maybe they just taking long to arrive from the factory.

Rich, Ii don't think there is a slope - problem is the viewing angle, in 2 ways:

1. the water side was captured at an angle to the phocus plane (so, not tilted or anything; nothing to correct here)

2. the oblique lines in the water struggle a bit with the 'frame', because we see it all within a small angle. If you would be looking at an enlargement the oblique lines would give a less emprisoned feel. But then, a small angle of difference with the adjacent frame is indeed irritating
Nice shots anyway - good luck with the graphical part!

You're right, Bart - maybe I'll play with that small angle ... thanks.

I like the picture, but as an image I thought it was a bit over-processed. I used a red filter when converting to BW whch smoothed the image a bit but lost some of the detail I liked. A bit too much sharpening for my taste too but the image went mushy on when it got onto Pbase and a bit of usm was the only thing that seemed to help.

Dad - spot the likeness.. well no, she looks far too intelligent.
