Nice shot Pekka...you are amazing to get these shots in while working. The ol' 70-200L really does a great job...the quality is fabulous.

Hi Pekka

as we have learned to expect very fine images. one little problem left though, now, not only am I enviouse of your photographic skills but also your hair (color and quantity alike) - it has been many years since my barber's floor looked like yours, Darn, I will never be able to make this shot...

Now, that put aside I realy liked this image as well as all the other

Thanks,

Yep it's a very good lens. Heavy though. I always try to get soloist number accompaniments free (normally we have about 4-6 basses onstage then) so that I can shoot people in action. Sadly sometimes when you really would like to , it's not possible, like a week ago when we had Murray Perahia as soloists...

Who knows, in 20 years I'll take a still life photo titled "eggs" where one of the eggs is actually my head :)

Thanks a lot Ruvy!

Hi Pekka,

Nice work, as usual :). This one looks really good in B&W too - the image looks sharper and far more interesting than it ever would in color. I love the fact that the flute player, the conductor and the music are the only subjects here, with a black background - this simple setup adds a lot of power to the image. Thanks for sharing,

Arjan

Thanks Arjan,

It's always my biggest dilemma to have the subject separated as a clean composition, most situations like this are in fact really hectic and full of people and microphone poles.

Hi Pekka,

I just thought I'd say that this is one more truly fine example of your work. If it were mine, I'd be truly happy to dedicate wall space to it in fact.

And maybe I should add this... I know I don't often comment on your posts, I don't always manage my time and energy in the best ways. But I feel that your photography always shows true class at the very deepest and most thorough levels.

You are a true photographer. I am a true fan of your work.

My very best regards,

Ed

I'm blushing, Ed. I can also say (to all of you) that even if I don't comment much it does not mean I don't appreciate you all. Mostly I'm speechless!

I´m looking forward to accept your invitiation, Helsinki isn´t that far.. but we´ve already bumped into each other when I asked you some questions about your homepage programs and you did not answer so far. Maybe you did not want to give away any secrets or were just too busy, no problem. I still observe your works! Greetings from Berli, Johannes
