What are you shooting this weekend?

Welll, I DID have one or two of them kicking it but they were even worse than those LOL. I'm about to go to my son's "real" football practice (I'm their "coach" DOUBLE LOL!).

In my initial post, I indicated I wasn't sure if I'd be able to gain access to the airplane pulling contest today, just because I didn't know what to expect. (Airport security these days) Not only did I gain access to the event, but I was able to get three other photogs and myself into the cockpit of the airplane to get pictures out the front windows of the plane! I love this stuff.

Here is one image to start you off, I will post a few other in a following post.

Several images, give them time to download.

Ooh, time to play "Name that airframe!" ^ ^

A Boeing 727-200? Let's see:

Maximum ramp weight at original outfitting - 173,000 pounds
Zero fuel weight at original outfitting - 136,,000 pounds
Operating empty weight - 97,650 pounds

FedEx probably gave them a "break" by not having full tanks -

Basic fuel capacity - 8090 US gallons

at (let's see) 6.84 lbs per gallon; let's take off 30,000 pounds of fuel. 98000 - 30000 = 68000 pounds, 34 tons.

O.O

Sure hope those guys knew what they were doing!!

Damn, wrong piccie. But it was mental fun anyway.

Sure glad I wasn't at the end of that rope...
