Successor of the EOs 30D ??

I am willing to buy a EOS 30 D.

But i also want to have just a camera like the EOS 30D, but with more pixels, 10 ore 11MB.

Has anyone heart about the time that CAnon is bringing out the successor of the EOS 30 D ???
 
Search this forum for "40D" and you will find every thread that has discussed the successor to the the 30D.

Lots of rumors and speculation, no data.

Now that the "they have to being a replacement out in September" kooks have been disproved, next spring is the likely target for a "40D".

But I suggest you re-evaluate your priorities.

80% of a photograph is the photographer, not the equipment. 50% of the equipment features are noise characteristics, color sensitivity, etc., not pixel count. And 8MP is 80% of 10MP.

So you would be missing out on 6 months for 2% of the capabilities. And that's being generous.

why do you want more mp?

Specifically, what real world advantage do you think 10 or 11 mp will provide?
 
You really are not going to see much differnce between 8 and 10mp.
 
I have several 8x10 pictures that friends have printed and hung in their homes from a 4mp camera, 8mp vs 10mp will make that big a difference. Take a look at a 5D vs 1DsII I think you will only see a slight advantage in resolution (not that a 1D doesn't do a better job with the pixels!).
