Hi Everyone

I own my own photography studio and I love the "watercolor look" on watercolor paper. I currently have PS 5.0LE and i've been trying to learn this technique in the last few days. I know very little about PS.

Please come check out my samples at my web site at tell me what you think. If there is anything you add? change? and if so, how would you do it (need directions!)

Also, if anyone knows "how" to do this with PS5.0LE i'd love to learn!

Thanks, Jennie

The wc effect looks blotchy in the baby's skin tones. Water color effects are really tough to do for portraits. Another thing to experiment with is the dry brush filter. It produces effects that yield the same feel as the WC filter in my opinion.

Remember that your filter settings need to change for each print or screen size.

I was using the dry brush in all the photo's i did. Anything else you'd recommend? Thanks, jennie

PS: which is blotchy?

I'm a wedding/portrait photographer and I've been doing digital watercolor and oil

effects on my images and printing them on canvas & watercolor paper for about 6 yrs

and my clients love it. I use Painter 5, a natural media painting program, I love the results. If you'd like to see a sample email me at;
[email protected] I.

I did DL it earlier, but it's not working? is ther something im suppose to do? If i DL the "trial" plug in again & it works.. what are the "steps" in that program for doing it?

Barry.. I've visited this link & have tried to DL the plug in. Im having problems though. WHICH plug in do you DL ?? Im doing the lite one. After it's DL then what? I have PS 5.0LE. I open PS up, and a photo, then look under "filters" and there is nothing there. That was w/the Buzz Pro plug in, now im DL the lite one.

If you've got a photo that you'd like for me to use the plugin on, post a link or email it to me and I can either repost the results here or send it back to you. I'll look for a good people pic on my end also.

As far as getting the plugin to work for you, it should be under "Filters" down at the bottom of the list. When you installed it, it did point to the correct plugin folder for Photoshop, right? I don't think it would have a problem working under PS5 LE but I'm using PS6. I'll check the readme file to see.

One thing I do for a water color effect is too put a gaussian blur to the image in Ps then convert useing the filter for water color that comes with Ps. Use gaussian blur spareingly to blur the finer details, experiment until you get the look you want, it works well for me..hope this helps, email me for any questions...ps u can even enhance the colors too to help with the effect either before or after the watercolor filter is applied -- http://www.pbase.com/wbrosen/photoart
