"The creators of MyBlueBees.com make a great interview! They have become famous for employing creative marketing strategies to get publicity for their website. Their most recent controversy is an army of homeless and pan-handlers wearing http://www.mybluebees.com t-shirts. They pay them with food and drinks and the Mayor (of Las Vegas) wants to shut them down for feeding and clothing the homeless."

Well, did you even watch the video? I say it IS funny, and I think the idea of the t-shirts is funny. However, YMMV.

Sorry, seems a might bit OT to me.
Then may I suggest you find a thread about the K10D and read that. There are enough of them already IMO.

Perhaps some of us enjoy a break from all the hoopla every once in awhile.

G'day.

Hi Ron,

Overall I see nothing wrong with this company's advertising. the t-shirts for the women is a nice touch (the Bees are in the right places to show off. What intrest's me the most is Why is there a ban on feeding and clothing the homeless. Is this because the city doesn't want to recogonize they have a problem? Or is it because the homeless are even more spotlighted by the Add campain?

I would say these two guys have a good idea and are trying to help by offering food and clothing to people who can't get help from a City Government that want's to turn a blind eye to a growing problem. (not only in Vages but thru out the world.)
Thanks for the change in format and a refressing change from the hoopla.
Cheers: David

From watching the video, I take it that there is no ban on clothing them, but there is a ban on feeding them in the parks. Crazy, huh?

I can't answer that. I don't know.

The way I understand it, the ban on feeding came long before the ad campaign.

I also think it is great that they are challanging the Mayor, in such a creative markingting strategy, on his ban of feeding the homeless.
Thanks for the change in format and a refressing change from the
hoopla.
You're welcome.

Unlike some in this forum, I do not believe that a bit of OT once in awhile hurts anybody or anything. And, in fact folks may even learn something if they would just quit being so uptight.

Thanks for your comments David.

I certainly do, and that's when I read forums that discuss other topics. This is a digital photography forum, not a current events forum. Telling me to read something else won't stop you wasting our forum resources or my time by tricking me into clicking on this thread thinking it would have somethign to do with Pentax DSLRs. That's the reason I'm here, not to read about some t-shirt maker's marketing campaign. Maybe you need to branch out a bit on the Internet, I'm sure this is being discussed on a gazillion other forums where it's not totally and completely off topic and inappropriate, like it is here.

Matt

I certaintly am sorry that I have made you click on a thread. And I am also sorry that you are so uptight that you are making a big deal out of nothing.

G'day to you sir.

Take it easy,

I going to get my head handed to me here But I really need to say what I feel.

OK Point taken Matt. considering all the speculation of the K10D, and at this point that is exactly what it is. People asking questions about a subject that has not even come to market yet, and speculating about fetures that have not been advertised and wanting a change here and there isn't going to change the camera at all. it is poised and ready and delivery to market is marked. these cameras are in the process of being released with final upgrades to firmware and software.

For those who can't read or don't understand the advertising release as to what this camera fetures, and posts on this forum that Pentax should have done this or that makes no sense, and are wasting the resources of this forum. the camera is what it is for now. You either like what you see or you don't. if you don't like that you can't find a feture you like on this camera than switch to C or N and go there and complain about their product.

Now as far as Ron's post I don't see it as any diffrent as someone posting the OZ football playoffs or other OT conversations. I respect all members of this forum and their views and opinions, especially those of Senior members, with more then 8 mo on the forum. I my self have not been here as long as Ron but I do know from all accounts He is one of the most respected members.

In short take a breath and see the post for what it is not for something that is trying to p* just you off.

Maybe. But

a) it has been said that Pentax listens and thus it might be not totally useless to state that gold&green looks bad, wireless P-TTL is more than nice and proprietary batteries stink.

b) even if it is totally irrelevant because noone at Pentax gives a dime, threads like those you mention are still is related to photography.

c) I don't mind the clothing thing too much, as they have a nice female model on their webpage. I'm easy to please.
Now as far as Ron's post I don't see it as any diffrent as someone

You are right. But
a) who says these are liked by many?
b) is adding [OT] to the subject so hard?

Cheers
Jens

I'm sorry I didn't put OT in the subject line. In fact I'm sorry I started the thread in the first place. There is no sense in carrying it any further. It will just blow up in our faces like so many other threads do.

Good light to you all.

This is very true. (However And I say this with toung in cheek) It get's old real quick and no wonder other threads for CR and great shots go unanswered. take a long look at how many threads there are dedicated to the same questions on just the K10D.

There are some newbees out there that would like to hear from ones who have been there, how they measure up, and what they need to do to improve their shots. this also has to do with photography and they are ignored.

I don't either she is very pleasing to the eye.

No it's not, and I guess with the new designations the forum has adopted this should have been done.

Im sorry also Ron and I sure didn't mean to single anyone out with my post and to Matt I do say Im sorry. But don't be sorry for posting the thread. It was informitive and made you think of the current situation and what is wrong with helping those less fortunate then your self even if the company had alternitive reasons for doing so.
Ok I'll drop the thread, and out of sight for a while.

Your right Matt. she is a very beautiful young lady, and of your shots I think number 3 and #17 are your very best effort. I'm sure you were not in over your head. from the looks of all the shots you were able to use what was tought and did a very fine job.
Cheers David
