If you only had "two" lenses?

It is my favourite lens. Despite what others (most of them never used it themselves) may say it performs great (IMO), is smaller than the 28-300, not that heavy, costs (2nd hand) aboub 1000 euro = half the price of the 28-300. It has no IS , but I don't miss that, I mainly use it on sunny days. And the range is a good match for my 17-40.

To show you how 'bad' this lens is:

I've come acroos some good deals on some great lenses so I've been picking some up to try out. I actually have too many now and feel that the 35 f/1.4 and 85 f/1.2 are all I really need plus a zoom for my d50. The 24L and 135L are likely gonna go soon. I think the 24 ts-e is a keeper for a special purpose creative shooting lens. The only reason I'd use the 135L over the 85L is to get the extra reach for when my kids start doing sports. I tried out my 135L at my son's little gym class and thought a 70-200 zoom would have worked better. Not sure if IS would come in handy there. Oh, back to the point. I'd keep just the 35L and 85L if I could only have two : )

For my 20D it would be the 10-22 and 24-105. I don't do much tele work.

I use the 135L a lot too and although I just got the 85L, I am keeping mine for indoor sports and outdoor candids and portraiture.

Very nice shot.

Cheers,

José

if the venue was outdoors, I'd swap the 85 for 135L (and do, often)
