Expensive, yes. Worth it - oh yeah.

This version of the Zigview has many more possibilities such as studio/product photography, object VR photography, studio macro photography, 3D imaging and stop motion animation.
 
It is expensive. But, having used Live View with the E-10 for many years doing product shots and Object VR, I KNOW how helpful it is to be able see things on a large screen monitor.

I did mke sure that the seller had a good return policy. For it to work for me it has to have at least the same video quality as a VHS tape player. Based on the little information that I have, it should have that capability.

The new LCD has 270,000 pixels which is double the number in the Casio EX-Z850 Point & Shoot cameras. So, I'm assuming that they output to the monitor will be the same resolution. If this is true, then it will match the quality of better security cameras and low-end videocamcorders like the Sanyo.

At any rate, I'll let everyone know as soon as I can get my hands on one.
 
I for one Tom would be REALLY interested to hear your experiences.

This solution could be the answer to all my prayers!

Hi Tom. I'm also looking forward to your comments. I am considering moving to a DSLR but I have gotten used to doing macro using the LCD screen and I don't want to give that up. Having a detachable screen (with remote shutter release) is icing on the cake! By the way, the S2 is listed on the B&H site for $469.75 (not in stock yet). Expensive, but if it works it is worth it...

I believe that it will ship the first week in October. But, I haven't been given a firm date.

I plan to do a thorough review of the product; but, I'll be sure to post my initial reaction right away and let you know if you can at least use it for focusing... whcih is my greatest need.

But, I already have a wishlist for the next upgrade and it's not even here yet. I wish that it had a USB video out so that I could instantly begin using for 'onion skin' applications in stop motion animation. I'll be able to do the same thing using a capture card; but, I found some Stop MotionAnimation software that has builtin Onion Skin capability with the Canon and a web cam! LOL
