Did not found found this pic on forum yet (with 7-14)... think battery grip isnt't fix and also there isn't built in flash..? and the pic of E1rs seem not to be the new E1 replacement.

I saw this. I also noted that its got the 7-14 on. This is a big, BIG lens. And it doesn't dwarf the new mockup.

So what does this mean? it means the new camera is a big bad pro body.
You have no idea how happy I am today :-)

Oh ye of little faith ...... you may sit and spin today ......

yep. compare it to the E-1 with mounted 7-14... the E-1 looks like a toy...

i´d like to see the E-400 next to the EP-1 :-)

Figured this would be the post of the day and wanted to get in on it.
If its real, it looks like a beast.

I don't need it, haven't cared for it, fed up with the forums talking about it, but now I want it.

Except for more camera to the left of the les, the rest of the camera doesn't look that much bigger. But that is one enormous prism hump.

I saw a chart here on this forum recently and the E1 has the highest magnification of all the DSLR's, but the actual area in the viewfinder was around the same as the 20D. The 1Ds MII has twice the area and the 5D have a 50% increase.

If you go from the optical axis of the lens to the hot shoe there is a -huge- amount of space, much more than you would need for even the biggest optical viewfinder in 4/3 size.

Gareth, hasn't your lady told you yet? Size is NOT everything...
And some times it IS :-)

In all seriousness, while I can understand some people wanting a small and/or light body (and hey ... you lucky people have got the ULTIMATE in that in the E400 very soon!), other scenarios are helped by having a big bad camera that screams 'pro'. If I'm shooting a wedding, I want everyone to know that I'm the main photographer. I don't care what anyone says, you get far more respect and co-operation and camera size is THE most obvious thing that people associate with this. If I'm at a large organised event and I'm carrying an E1 with power grip and a big lens, the security people will actively HELP me get a space to take pics. if I try that with an E500 and a kit lens, they look at me stupid.

I remember having one of my early disagreements with Louis on this as to why someone should get an E300 over an E500. As usual, he was very vociferous, very demeaning of the E300 and very wrong. Both cameras can take practically identical photos quality wise, but I will NEVER use the E500 in a public professional situation over the E300 with grip for one reason alone and that is simply that the size of the E500 says 'cheap amateur camera' and the E300 combo says 'big therefore pro' (no matter if that initial perception is unfounded in reality. Impressions count).

Interestingly, my other half DOES use the E500 and I don't have a problem with that because in her much smaller hands, the camera with a large aperture lens 'looks' bigger and the pro perception still works.

Maybe a version of Live view for prisms incorporated here?

A big, bright, 100% pentaprism; higher VF magnification and, most importantly, a decent LiveView Mode A implementation.

At least I hope so.
