I received today my XTi...simple outstanding! I will not repeat the little drawbacks already mentioned, (small, grip, little underexp. etc). Most of them may even corrected in-camera process.
My first impression is no less than fabulous, excellent!!!

Soon I will post some shots..should be no less than good, since all of you are big leaguers!!

I purchased the black body thru Calumet, Tamron 17-50, and Canon 70-200 f/4L. I can not afford more than this for the time to come!

Here the first long exposure, no tripod (it was sinked in my closet) but with the camera resting over my window's border: Tamron 17-50mm

You have some nice lenses and camera there. It is surprising what Canon can do with low light. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Here's one I did in low light too:

Nice night shot, you were awarded with this meteorite...What 50 mm lens did you use for this shot? Did you try ISO 1600 instead of ISO800?

I got excellent astronomy shots with my Oly8080, I will try soon this wonder with my Meade 8'...
Thanks for your comment!

It was the 50mm F1.4. I just pulled off the interstate on a dirt road when driving home away from cities and used the self timer with the camera resting on a towel on top of my car. I didn't vary the ISO. It is hard to focus in the dark though...

Woow, nice photo with Tamron! Can't wait to take a similar long exposure photo with my new toy..hahaa

Well gary, I found this Tammy excellent, by far. resuming:

POS:

-This f/2.8 all the way is terrific, no degradation at the long end, which is quite common in zoom lens
  • Excellent resolution at all stop but even better when you stopped down
  • No CA even torturing it
CONS:
  • Noisy mechanism (well not that noisy, but not as silent as the Canon 70-200 )
Overall is a terrific lens! at least from my amateur eyes...
