I remember a picture of you and Yehuda while you were visiting Israel. Yehuda was looking at your 828 skeptically. It seems you are always the innovator and early adapter and you have gone on to great things elsewhere, but it's really nice to have you stop by and say some nice things about my show. Thanks again.

About sixty people came on the first two days, but it was quiet for the rest of the week. We are wondering if more people will come on the second weekend of the show. Thanks for your kind words.

Nice art work.
Congratulations.

If you are always telling the truth, you don't have to remember what you said.

When we were setting up the show, I kept calling them paintings by mistake. So I guess I think of them as art work. Thanks for your comment.

John,

Thank you for sharing your photographs. As a newcomer to digital photgraphy, and this forum, I gain so much from people who post thier work. Your art inspires me!

I hope one day to have photographs like yurs, worthy of a show.

Thanks John!

of photos, John. I'm sure they're gorgeous all blown up, live and in person.

I LOVE the sunrise in the window - the colors of the sunrise and the texture/color of the window frame really speak to me.

Congrats, again, on the show.

I know you're more interested in being an artist then a salesman, but I do hope you've had or will have more sales. They deserve to be hanging on people's walls.

The work is beautiful (ah, I'm repeating myself, repeating myself...)

That's four years of taking photos, with four different cameras. Actually, though, most of them were taken on three days. One evening I got carried away shooting buildings at night with my R1. One morning at dawn with my H5 I stumbled across a glory hole full of beautiful lotus flowers just catching the first rays of the sun. And one sunset, when I was home in Manitoba visiting my dad, I got down among the weeds and had the time of my life taking pictures with my F707.

So this show is mostly three inspired days out of four years of struggling with all the things there are to learn about digital photography.

I hope that your learning curve will be gentle and easy to climb and that you make swift progress.

They are gonna go on people's walls even if they don't buy them. I don't need twenty giant sized photos underfoot in my house. I've got all the birthday and Christmas presents I need for this year.

also, I was quite surprised to find the photos that I picked for the show. I knew a few that would be in there but....

I made 50 8x12 prints and I put them on my bedroom wall. (I have a big bedroom). I looked at them for a month. I invited friends to come in and look at them too. (You turn off the air conditioning in all the other rooms, and then people are ok to come in and hang out in your bedroom).

Then I pulled down thirty, and put up a bunch more. It became pretty clear after a while that these were the ones that I liked best.

At the show I also have all the winning and losing finalists and 30 portraits in 8x12 size.
So people have lots to thumb through, as well as looking at things on the wall.

Ha ha.
Thanks a lot for saying all those sweet things.
My output amounts to about 5 decent pics a year
I hope we all can do better.

...they say it's always best to show only your best work. These are some of the best shots I've ever seen.

I love the way the way you've excluded any extraneous detail, relying on simplicity and colour to best make the statement.

Terrific!

I went to the show tonight and sat and talked to a university student who wanted to practice his English. After the first two days, only a few university students have come, (because we are running ads on the university radio), but you know that students have no money.
Maybe there will be more activity this weekend.
