New Tamron 28-75 f2.8 - my review!

Well I did it. Due to Jim's stellar review and some other lens research, after thinking about it, I just ordered the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 from Prodigital. I called them directly and ordered over the phone. The pleasant woman I talked with told me they have 4 more currently. It should be here in 3-4 days by UPS.

Will the warranty on the lenses from Prodigital be valid in the US? The US versions have 6 yrs while the Intl ones have only 1 yr.

I was told its covered under the international warranty, so I suppose its one year only.

I had been looking at this lens for some time and your review also caused me to pull the trigger and order one.
Problem is, I now really have too many lenses and may have to do some reverse LBA!

Hey Mike,
I hear ya. I'm doing the same "reverse LBA". I'm letting go of my Pentax FA28-105 f3.2-4.5 (it's on Ebay right now!).
I've decided the new Tamron will replace the Pentax lens for good. I hate to loose the extra reach from the Pentax, but Tamron's constant f2.8 and pro-build quality are more important to me. Not to mention, I don't like the silver finish on the Pentax.
