See K10D here

Well here is the battery of the new K10D, dont tell me from where I got the picture thou ;)

Plus here is the part of the grip which takes the battery in it. Doesnt look that it will support AA batteries thou :(

Using Babel it says

19. power sources D-LI50 lithium ion battery, approximately may photograph 500 images (the CIPA standard, 50% image use the flash illumination), in the fuselage and the battery may use the hand the special-purpose battery and the list three, the CR-V3 battery.

So still not AA but better than nothing.

Using google, it becomse:

*********

D-LI50 lithium-ion battery power, can take approximately 500 images (CIPA standards, the use of flash lighting images 50%), and the fuselage with special batteries and single-use batteries can handle three CR-V3 batteries.

Three CR-V3 batteries, couldn't we force 6 AA's in there? Anyway, cool to see CR-V3s are supported, that means the many back-up CR-V3s I have around will still serve their purpose...

This seems like a good plan, AA's or CRV-3's in body, but rechargeable Sony lithium pack in battery grip. At least it looks like Sony.

That's what I thought. It looks just like the battery used in my old Sony digital camera and like the recent Sony digi-cams. That's good for me, as I have two of those batteries laying around, now that I don't use the Sony much anymore. Would still like AA capability.

I think it refers to the grip... But it's not very clear, that's the least you can say...

I'm going to compile a list of things to check at Photokina.

IS that an SD card in the Battery Grip, is that only storage for
the card or can that card be written to.
Only storage.

Its just a storage for the SD Card. There will be a place where to store the remote control in the grip too.
