***Part 2, CTF Mini-Challenge Meet the Photographer***

Three very good entries. Especially that third one. Explain how
and what you did to get that cool effect - please...

Thanks, Scott! I used a A620 and a mini tripod (self-timer 10 sec.). For b&w conversions, my weapon of choice is always Virtual Photographer with my own settings, then (and that's the most important part) I did a lot of dodging and burning and finally sharpening. If you need more information, feel free to send me an email!

Good one! I love the Tuscany background and the colors work very well. You are a little dark in the image so it is kind of hard to see you. Nice shot nonetheless! Sharon
I'm the one with the camera, not the one wearing the Oakleys.
You get a free Tuscany background with this one.

Three very creative shots! I like them all but for some reason the middle one really appeals to me. All that stuff makes for a very interesting background and frames you nicely. The colors are so vibrant! The first one is fun too but we can't really see you so it is less effective as a self portrait. I do like it that we can see the rocks on the stream bed. The third one is wonderful with the gilt, lights and mirrors! Someone else mentioned cropping it - for the purposes of this challenge it would be good if you cropped it so you just had the center portion. I would retain all the fancy stuff all around the mirrors and just crop out the walls on either side. Good work! Sharon

I like this a lot, Falcon! And I think it was smart of you to see the connection with the Escher drawing. Your photo does have a lot of the same qualities. I like how you cropped this so that it has just the Christmas ball in it and not a lot of extra cubical. Good work! Sharon

What a marvelous shot! I am amazed that not only did you see what the reflection and moon were doing but were able to capture it so well. Not only did you get the moon where your eye should be but the leaves where your hair should be. Very creative! Sharon

I don't envy you for what you are into.
;)
Me and Rod will wait patiently to see how you'll get out of this.

The first shot is very interesting. I like how your hands mimic the logo of the team and the color of your face and your hat also mimic the team colors. Good work doing that!

The second one is very funny! Did you have to set up a tripod to get this one? Did people look at you strangely as you were shooting it?! Well seen!

The third one has you pretending to be a cyclops! One big eye in the middle of your head! Hard to tell what you might actually look like from that one but fortunately we have your other two for that. It is great to see that you have such a good time with your photography! Sharon

Hi Tom! I have to leave for about three hours and when I get back I have to tie up the loose ends on the CTF Challenge _ A View from Above. After that is done I will tackle this challenge. I can't believe I made this one end at the same time as the other one! What an idiot! Oh well! Sharon

Thanks. I was just sitting at the computer with my S2 plugged in and experimenting with how to use the canon CameraWindow software. I noticed my reflection in the window and where the moon was, moved the camera to where it looked best, and voila, one shot and it worked.

I did find your mirror image, too, and think I have three from you, is that right? The mirror shot is wonderful. As someone said the power lines really do add to it and there is a lot to look at in it. But you are hard to see, hiding behind your camera like that. Your second posting is your best self portrait and quite a nice one at that. You do good work, Tom! Sharon

Three really marvelous images, Robert, and good clear shots of you. Your technique is very effective, making for a nice soft glowing quality. I love the color of the first two and the surreal sharpness of the third one. Excellent work! Sharon

Still time to get your portraits in. I know we are missing a bunch of you that normally participate in this challenge and I hope you will have time to get a shot or two in before the end! Sharon
