Hi everybody,

I am looking for any help with this topic. I bought EOS 350D a couple of days ago. Unortunately I have got Windows 2003 Server installed on my notebook. I have got a problem with EOS Utility software - it simply doesn't work! Probably this soft is not supported by WS 2003 and this is really big disaster for me. I can't download photos from my camera, just can't comunicate with it. I did everything they described in manuals and 'troubleshooting' but I did't manage to brake through. Whenever I try to use EOS Utility I can see the message like this 'The application cannot be launched' :( Is there any possbiliti to solve this problem ?
I'd appreciate it if you could give any suggestions.
Regards,
greg

Try using a one of these programs; VMware, Virtual PC or Virtual Server 2005. One is these programs should operate on W2003 Server

You will then need to load a copy of Windows XP to host the EOS utility.

I was running 64bit server on my acer notebook as well, and one thing that might cause some issues on a server vs XP is the way it handle storage. (camera connected is seen as a USB disk as well),

first make sure you are using the PC.Connect on the camra.

Then after connecting it, do you get the USB ballon ?

Then you might want to bring up the Diskmanager and see if you can find the camera disk (might have to rescan) and then change drive letter to something fixed (like Y or X etc)

then try to launch EOS viewer

Give it a swing, or install XP :-) (hey, why not Vista)

The spelling errors might not be related to dyslexia or using a second language, but it could be, just errors, a bit like my photos.

Great thanks!

I have tried your suggestions (compatibility property) and it started work!
Now it works without any problems! Thanks a lot and all the best :)
