The best test is people not a tree, tree bark, or carpets. People has certain features, demensions, and most important skin that dogs some of the camera. Can we start with people in the sample please?

Actually, I photograph trees and bark for work, so for me they're the best test subjects, LOL! So please point me to these tree and bark 400D test images, because, for the life of me, I still haven't been able to see one!

I like to shoot moving aircraft.

Please include bark, trees, people, and flying aircraft.

You can skip the carpet portion. Airplanes and carpet, no one is shooting that. That's just silly.

On the 5D forum, apparently to test your camera, the standard is a picture of a house cat.

Actually, maybe bark is the new newsprint or brick wall. ;-)

The true test of any camera to be reviewed on this forum is a photo
of a duck.

The most popular, the most boring & the most unimaginative pictures of all time has to be those of flowers/plants. If I had my way anyone who shows these pictures in a public place would have their camera confiscated and smashed into a 1000 pieces. The bits would then be melted down and made into one of those nasty, plastic, battery operated dancing flowers that'll be constantly going mad to the tune of "I Never Promised You A Rose Garden". I wish;)

Paul,

Each forum has different subjects to use for their test.

This forum and the Sony forum normally uses duck. I guess we're changing that standard to tree barks so that people won't confuse us with the Sony forum.

If you go to the lens forum, people usually use brick walls.
Other forum uses the box that the camera came in.
