After waffling back and forth for months, I had narrowed my decision for a digital camera down to two models; the c700 and the c2100. Zoom meant more than pixels and I had discounted any other options.

Price has always been a major factor, and I had pretty much been able to use that to keep me from making a purchase. I had relegated myself to the c700, but still didn't want to spend $600.00. Then came Sunday's CompUSA ad. And the waffling began again.

After lurking and reading many posts in the last couple of days on this forum, as well as reading the product reviews on dpreview, I decided that the c2100 would be it. Now the question was, "Were there any left?" Had I waited too long?

After searching stores everywhere, I finally found a Wal-Mart with 3 left at 6:45pm this evening. I didn't even blink, made the purchase, and have joined the digital world. I'll park my c2100 next to my Nikon 8008 and my Pentax K1000. May it serve me well.

Sorry if this bores you, but can you tell I'm a little excited? Now I just have to figure out how to tell my wife!!! Suggestions are not only welcome, but encouraged. :)

Welcome to the Uzi club. Look forward to seeing your pictures.

Debbie

Glad to see you part of the club. I just bought mine on 12/30 and have been buying accessories ever since (i.e. batteries, SmartMedia, SM reader, filters, etc.). Still haven't taken it out of the box yet. The $500 you dropped on the camera was just the start. You probably got about $200+ to go.(smile)

As for the wife, hope you got a warm sleeping bag and plenty of room and amenities in your dog [ofThunder] house. I got mine with Christmas money, so my response was, "Stand aside, woman! My wallets a' burnin'!" (If you send me your address, I can Express you one of my sleeping bags -- smile.)

Well, it's getting close to bedtime and it's awful cold outside! Maybe I'll just wait and tell her once it warms up a little. 7 inches of snow on the ground and

I'm sure she'll figure it out soon enough though. This camera looks nothing like my Nikon.
