beautiful colors on the bird. not easy to get a dragonfly in flight like that.

Whoa good one and in the air too.. is very true darn hard to catch in the air... mine is 100% crop of 50-500 bigma at just under 300MM

Nice job on the dragonfly in flight pic. I've been trying for two years now and haven't gotten a good one. I was hoping that by going to the 30d with the AI servo it would help, but yesterdays attempt didn't prove it. Maybe I don't understand AI servo

to mike ........had to turn servo off and use manual focus to get this pic

my lens is not fast enough and there is no enough to focus on ......just have to be patient and prefocus to a predictable distance and get real lucky . rob

because there is no eMail in your profile I would like to ask, if you too experienced that sometimes when OS of the 80-400 is turned on the mirror locks about 1/4s although the shutterspeed was far above 1/500s? This prevents the camera to get some bursts if OS is on. Except this annoying issue I too like this lens very much!
