B-300 and C-700UZ

Hi,

Is anyone using the B-300 lens on the C-700 camera? If so, do you use the CLA-4 adapter to attach the lens to the camera? Are you satisfied with the results?

I have not used the B-300 with the C-700, but you do need the CLA-4 adapter. I have used one of the Olympus macro lenses with the C-700 and it worked quite well. I expect the B-300 will do admirable with the C-700

Thanks for the information. I am planning to order the CLA-4 shortly from B&H. I was just concerned about the different size of the CLA-4 front vs. the back of the B-300 lens. Does anyone know if I also need a step-down ring? I guess I'm confused!

I've using both of it, it's great, the zoom range is even more than UZI due to the smaller lens of c700. U don't need any ring, they both are 55mm.
Also I can use an UV lens between them.

Now you have me confused because I bought the Tiffen adapter tube (I believe is just like the CLA-4 tube and its a 43mm thread. Are you saying the CLA-4 is a 55 mm thread. I also am wanting to get a b300 but it is a little pricey for me so I'm still looking.

Hi,

I have been confused as well. That's why I posted my question. I believe the answer from Malau is that the CLA-4 is 55mm on its front end AND the back end of the B300 is 55mm. Therefore, an additional step-up/down ring will not be needed.

Eric, I don't know anything about the adapter tubes by Tiffen. Here is some info. on the CLA-4 from the BHvideo.com website:

Rear Mount Diameter 45.5mm (proprietary thread)
Front Mount Diameter 55mm

Perhaps the Tiffen 43mm thread you referred to is the rear mount of the adapter tube instead of the front? Have you used this tube on your C700 yet? If so, does it fit onto the camera properly?

Thank you Malau!! You answered my question! I am placing an order today for the CLA-4, a UV filter and a 55mm lens cap. Can't wait to attach this beautiful B300 to it!!

Do you happen to have any sample photos using your C700 and B300? If so, I'd love to take a look! I can't use my B300 until my adapter comes in!

I got my B300 a week ago, only take some indoor flash photo. if u want it i can upload it to pbase.
