I have a Canon 20D and looking to get a fisheye lens. All 3 of my lenses are Canon. I'm almost set on the Canon Fisheye Lens. How does that compair to other fisheye lenses?
Thanks,
Jeremy

--Thanks for the feedback. I want to go as wide as possible. I'm
mainly shooting narrow alleys, tall skinny buildings... the
'rounded' effect is desirable. Do you still get the same effect
with the Sigma 8mm? I know the lenses will be affected by the 1.6X
crop, but plan on upgrading my camera in the near future. I love
the quality of Canon's lenses, but I'm not opposed to other brands.
I would go with an EF~ S lens, but there limited with which cameras
you can use them with.
Thanks,
Jeremy
Hmnnn ... in case you by "regular ultra-wide" means rectilinear wide angle I am not so sure that is correct. I think it is fisheye projection all the way from 10 to 17?... it has the additional flexibility to act as a regular
ultra-wide at it's middle and long ends. The Oly 10-17 (same lens)
gets pretty good reviews.
Yes. What I meant was, it's not so wide that the "fishiness" is obvious on all subjects. For example, this was taken with a 15mm fisheye on a 1.6 crop camera:Hmnnn ... in case you by "regular ultra-wide" means rectilinear... it has the additional flexibility to act as a regular

I was in the aquarium so I used the lens on an appropriate subject.Awesome for a fe. Did you stumble upon the scene and apply the lens
or did you seek out the scene because of the lens?
Isn't it pentax and not oly which has the 10-17 currently? It's the only way to get a full-frame fisheye on a Canon crop
camera and it has the additional flexibility to act as a regular
ultra-wide at it's middle and long ends. The Oly 10-17 (same lens)
gets pretty good reviews.

Oops! ;-)Isn't it pentax and not oly which has the 10-17 currently?
My aquarium shot was on full-frame, in case you missed that.I am very happy with my Sigma 8mm f/4 EX DG Fisheye for the Canon
20D. The 15mm Canon will not provide a true fisheye look and feel
on a camera like the 20D with a 1.6 crop factor.
