These colorful fellows appeared in Granby a few weeks ago and have made quite a hit. There are about 30 around town and I have photographed most of them so thought I'd share a few with you.

This one is labeled as a horse of a different color.



The larger of these carries the thematic statement for the activity and an image to match.



A seahorse?

interesting shots, I've only seen cows and little swedish horses (can't remember the name) done this way.

how wonderful ! You captured them so well. A suburb of Cincy has something similar. They have giant squirrels (sorry Fred). Some are painted like the horses, others have a theme, such as the one situated next to a firehouse - he has a fireman's coat and is holding a hose ! Thanks for sharing !

Very well-captured, Ed--the colors are great. You may be interested to know that 2 or 3 years ago, Ocala, Florida stationed a goodly number of these psychedelic chargers around their city, too, and everyone in this area liked them, as well. (Ocala is one of the horse farm areas of Florida, which was the driving force for the exhibit there.)

I had seen painted cows on my travels somewhere (although I've forgotten the location) a while back, but this is the first time I've seen it with horses. It is colorful and has resulted in a lot of folks walking around town with their kids and with their cameras. All in all I think it's a pretty good thing.

I think we have plenty of those around here already. ;

That's the first I've heard of anyone doing this with squirrels - does sound like fun.
